1. Initiation and client meetings
SlashTime has developed a well defined process to collect the client's
requirement.
To give you a rough estimate we need enough information to make a guess
about the number of hours of work and the completion date. Web Site
Questioner have been created to gather these information.
2. Requirement Analysis / Website Specifications
SlashTime believe that client's best efforts to communicate their
requirements clearly save time and money of both the parties. The client
requirements are analyzed. This document becomes basis for an agreement
which is approved and signed by the client. Deadlines for various
deliverables are also specified.
Special likes and dislikes regarding the look and feel of the website must
be communicated and documented at this stage. Development Tools and
Technologies must also be specified e.g.. Flash, Dreamweaver, ASP, JSP,
CGI etc.
3. Website Development Agreement
Once both of us agree on the cost to complete your project we must
then make sure we are both clear about what is expected. Once both parties
agree on the terms of the deal a document will be prepared to clarify
exactly what is to be done. 50% advance payment is then made.
At this stage we also determine the domain name requirements. If domain
name is not yet registered then we assist the client to get appropriate
domain name registered. Click here for more domain name information.
4.a. Design
SlashTime works out a graphical website design incorporating, the
overall look and feel, colors, logo and navigation features specified by
the client.
This will be hosted on SlashTime server in a password protected area or in
the client's web space as client prefers.
This phase may require back and forth communication and changes between
the client and designer till the client is satisfied with the look and
feel, features, colors, design logo etc.
4.b. Coding
Once the client approves the design the project launches into the
development phase.
In this phase the approved design is converted into HTML pages, if not
done so already. The CGI scripts are incorporated e.g. search facility,
forum etc.
In case of a backend intensive websites, ASP pages are developed and
linked to databases so that content can be dynamically generated and
updated easily by the client.
4.c. Testing
After all required programming is done and tested thoroughly on the
client's server space the website is ready to go live after the client
approves it.
5. Web Hosting & Go Live
Once the site is ready to go live, we do the bandwidth & web space
requirements analysis i.e. what will it take in terms of web hosting to
accommodate the web design? Estimate the host disk space and monthly
traffic requirements. All the contents are transferred to the web server
and codes are adjusted with reference to new base directory structure.
6. Online Testing
Once all the site contents are ported to the web server, then site is
tested thoroughly, in order to make sure that all defined functionalities
are working perfectly and also there are no missing links.
7. Complete Web Site Development
Once the site is tested on line, the development process is complete,
whole web site can be burned on CD and handover the client. After this
phase any major change or update will be quoted separately. The client
will sign the web site acceptance letter and will make the final payments.
Please note that payment schedule may vary from contract to contract.
8. Promotion
Once the website goes live, it is time to get indexed with search
engines. Now the main aim is to get more and more people to visit the site
and search engines make it easy for people to find your site. Get your web
site indexed. Search engine promotion and submission strategies. Proper
keyword selection. Search engine ranking and web site optimization rules.
This process may take some time. Once the pages get indexed with search
engines, the keywords are tweaked in order to get higher rankings. This
phase is ongoing , we have promotion package to satisfy your need.
Continue to submit to search engines in order to maintain high rankings.
9. Maintenance and Post Development Support
After the development process is complete, the client may sign on a
contract for ongoing web site promotion, traffic analysis, web site
performance, links testing, popularity testing, host performance, minor
updates or changes in the content of the web site. SlashTime will
undertake these changes and updates at agreed rates.
